Hey guys just bought my first yamaha r1 today and when I got it home I let it idle until it reached running temperature and when I gave it alittle rev well a big rev it had a little rattle coming from the engine does anyone know what this might be its a 2008 and has covered 22k I paid top bucks for it and it wasn't like this when I viewed it and didn't take a test run as I just had an operation on my hand on Wednesday past and still haven't fully recovered from it yet

Think it out this way. Why would I let something burn out idling when I can start it and slowly move along and remain under 2k rpm while it warms up. Why would I just rev an engine for what? That took a lot of hours off the engine... think.

Rev limiter aside, if the engine starts up with that same noise cold, you have a problem. Got a video? For all I know, that wrist and that rev did what kind of noise? Could be normal for all I know?
