Yamaha waverunner 2017 TR1 Engine timing.

Hello,

I recently purchased a second hand Yamaha Waverunner 2017 with the 1.8L - 3 cylinder - 6EY-2179N-00.
Engine was crystalized due to not flushing, proper maintenance etc.
so i began taking the engine apart and cleaning it, put it back together and i realized my permanent marker had faded due to the oil that was still on there, my mistake.
Now i cant get the timing right on the engine and cam shafts.
is there any print that can show me how to get it back in the right positions, or can anyone help me out with this issue?
Many thanks,
best regards,
Sean Matthew

Sean,

I just put together the HO engine(1812cc) and it had marks(little round dots) on the cam shafts that lined up with the cam shaft holders. The dots were around the middle of the cam. Number one cylinder should be TDC and the marks lined up with the arrows on the caps. Hope that helps!

Great advice and I would not have known many of the steps that are critical for removal, tear down, rebuild, and back in. I have the service manual and followed the instructions exactly. Have checked it three times now just to make sure and all the cam dots align with number 1 cylinder TDC. I even use a dial guage to get TDC exact.
