My first Yamaha was a 1972 RD 350. Bought it in 1974 to commute to college. It was a great little bike. I remember the super narrow power band, but was fun going thru the gears. The brakes weren't the best and would have me guessing at times if I would stop in time. Only had it about a year before it was stolen. So, what was your first Yamaha?

How many hours do you think you road it?
oh gosh, IDK, a lot. Used to sneak it out on the roads to the foothills about a mile from my house. Kind of funny, it was my last dirt bike, after that was ATCs and then my Yamaha Warrior quad. I've had my Warrior for almost 20 years, still ride it.
That RD is awesome.

My first bike was a Yamaha RD250 1980.
In OZ back in the day we had to do 12 months on a 250cc or less before transitioning to larger bikes an an upgrade to the license.
Loved it. Very quick, left a lot of more powerful bikes guessing. I only had it for the 12 months before transitioning to a BMW rs1000, fully faired, solid case panniers etc to go touring but I always missed the fun and pace of the little Yammie.
