So with the official count down to the holidays, I thought it would be interesting to get people's thoughts on the festive season. Some people get right into it, and others don't .A lot of people say it is just marketing lately, do agree/ disagree that's it's now very consumer focused?
Do you go as far as to coat your house in flashing lights, or is a Christmas tree more then enough decoration for you? And if that's the case do you get a real tree or a fake one? etc.. Share your thoughts.

Not a huge fan of the holidays, but then again I don't like celebrating stuff (even my b-day).
As far the tree goes, me and the wifey had a fake 6 footer but since we live in a condo, we no longer have the space for it (had to buy a dining room table). She has been on my a$$ for a week now about putting up the tree so on Saturday when she went to the casino, me and buddy hopped out to a store and got a 4.5' tree and put it on the edge of our dining room table. So she's happy :)

The tree is enough for me. My mom ushually puts up a few other stuff on the inside like stockings ect. Other than that I don't really like the holidays. Can't stand the music on every station!!!

No lights for me! I dont want to take them down after. I am not a fan of Christmas, I have to go out and buy stuff for people that I only see once a year. I will probably stop by the Depot and pick me up a nice 6.5 foot Douglas Fir. Real trees burn up better after the holidays! LOL

Its a waste of time, money and extended shopping hours (we need these during the year not when we are off from work )

I don't mind Christmas too much, it's nice to catch up with the family but one day is enough.

Mum loves Christmas and puts up all the house decorations as well as playing her multitude of Christmas CDs. Can get painful.
Older bro has a couple of little kids so we still play it up for them a bit.
We're doing a Secret Santa this year to keep $$ down but I think Mum's gone and bought everyone gifts anyway.

There is a theme running here perhaps ? The males seem anti christmas where as the Ladies appear to be pro christmas ... I suppose it's good to have a couple of days off and stock up from xzpolskix's shop whith that done you can just forget it .... but I guess you have spent out on 2 slabs of Beer.
This year I'm off to Brixham in Devon to stay with the brother in law at his B&B should be good .... The Merc needs a run (it's a 2007 with 1500 miles on the clock !) so I'll kill to birds with one stone
Regards Jim
