Hey all, I have a 2002 road star 1600 that I am trying to work on. I am trying to get the clutch cover off and it is getting hung up. I have all of the bolts out and I am able to pull the cover about a quarter of an inch away from the case all the way around. Seems like something is hanging on near the lower middle of the case near where the bottom of the push lever axle is, though I can’t see it.

Edit:The previous owner put in Barnett spring conversion plate and the bearings failed. The bearing failure caused the pull rod to twist and messed up the gears where they interface with the push lever axle. The pull rod is now stuck in the cover. Luckily the bearings were messed up enough to eventually allow the pull rod to slide through the center of the spring plate. Probably not a common occurrence but it happened.
