Hi,
I am trying to get a quick fastener screw off my 2018 Yamaha r6 to remove Cowling A. However, the inner part just keeps turning and does not loosen anything. Any help on how to remove this?

It is the inner quick faster at the bottom of the radiator. (Page 8-7, last diagram of the owners manual)

You need to pry it out, I have good luck with a small flat screw driver or if there is enough room you can use wire cutters to carefully get under it.

Also, on the one like that turn it with the screwdriver without pushing on it too hard. Try that first actually.

If you mess it up you can get a replacement at an auto parts store or Amazon. They have lots of generic ones that will fit.

Thanks! I couldn't loosen it all end. Ended up cutting the screw. Need to order a new one from Amazon.

Hey Man - Can you send me a link to the replacement one? I managed to do it once when I did my first oil filter change but have to do it again & I just wanna rip it out with plyers and put a new one in but can't figure out exactly what to pre-order??? 2018 r6 here so same setup as 2019.
