I just bought a 79 XS750 Special. Odometer read 9408 and I was assured this was the original mileage (??) I have trouble with the kick start but did get it started. The electric start worked. I went for a ride to a friends house and when I was ready to leave the bike wouldn't start. The plugs were dry as a bone. We got it started by removing the plugs and adding some gas to the cylinders. The bike started and didn't run all that well but it can well enough to get me home. Again, when I bought the bike, the owner said he had the carbs cleaned and synchronized by a motorcycle shop in Chatanooga. Also, I loosened the drain screws on all three bowls and there was gas. Are there any ideas as to what I'm looking at before I start digging??
