Lost our keys for zuma 2014 - having a very difficult time getting new ones - Yamaha has no interest in helping ? I guess it's not like a car where you supply the vin # ?

Back with my old Zuma 50, I couldn’t have a new key made by Yamaha. It was too old. I had a locksmith try to cut one that was close, but it wasn’t close enough.

I have since bought a used Zuma 125 and it only had one key with the special magnetic locking mechanism. You don’t use the vin number. The keys are missing the little key number tag, so I can’t have Yamaha sell me another one. This is weird because there’s a little code number on the plastic magnet end. This forces me to buy the whole set of keyholes (the locking keyhole, gas cap, and extra keys). The cost of this is over US$ 100.

Best of luck.
