Lost Key

So I lost ( threw away at dump...oops ) the keys to my 07 v star 650. I called 3 seperate dealerships, to ask if I provide the vin, or ignition code, how much for them to order me a new key. All 3 dealerships stated they don't have any way of ordering, or making a key. They can only sell me a blank key for it and I quote, from one dealership, " We're not Harley Davidson". WTF???

I would ask a locksmith if they can make one using your lock cylinder.
