Hello,
First time on forum; I own a 2018 Star-Venture Transcontinental with 25,000 miles on it. Writing to work one day on acceleration in 3rd gear, the engine backfired several times and quit running. Could not re-start. Took to dealer and was told there was low compression in cylinder 1 and 2. Apon teardown they said it had score in the front cylinder number 1 and low compression in cylinder 2, rear. They installed new cylinders, piston, rings and still no start + backfiring. Second teardown, they removed lifter blocks and discovered badly worn lifter with a hole in the center. Just asking if anyone else has experienced cam- lifter failure in this engine.

Unfortunately a known issue on some SVTC. Actual cause is not known but speculation is high lifter pressure and possible inferior lifter hardness. Once repair is done, I've never seen a second failure.

I have seen the same thing happen to a Raider once like the fella above said once repaired doesn’t happen again usually
