Have a 89 Yamaha Moto 4 accidentally crossed red, brown, and black wire on switch I didn't notice till wire was kind of smoking and then,, now nothing!

I would think you have popped a fuse (or two). You should also have a real close look at those wires, you are likely going to have to replace some & maybe some connectors. Which switch? Do you have a service manual for it? The manual should have a full schematic in the back section.
