Brand new 2021 Yamaha YZ 450 FX running poorly. Just got bike back from the Yamaha dealer. What a useless outfit in Terrace BC.

Could be just a bad plug .. Start with that . Drain fuel , add some Seafoam , or other carb cleaner in fuel . Mine was just a bad plug ...,

Engine idle speed affects engine operating system .. It should be at 2000 rpm ....

Has new plug and fresh fuel with seafoam done before video. Bike will idle all day, I would guess around 2000ish. Revs great until it put into gear.
I would be looking for the area Yamaha service advisor , and contacting Yamaha directly ...

Dang pesky medical issues...I contacted Yamaha Canada and they wanted me to return bike back to dealer. But first I want to check valve clearance and cam timing before hauling all the way
back to the dealer. Too flippin' cold to go out to the shed as yet.

Most dealers find out you been messing with it , won't touch it under warranty .....,
Might be best to just drag it back in .... Let them handle it ...... Then haggle about who bears the cost ......

When I first took the bike to the dealer, the service manager immediately told me, "There is no warranty whatsoever on a YZ model".
The attitude of the service manager was such after contacting her about my bike still running poorly that I won't be returning.
I fired up the heat in the shed today and have the bike stripped with valve cover off, darn don't have a hex key large enough to get to the
crankshaft portal. Plus the battery in my calipers to measure the shims is toast. Will have to order these two items on Amazon.
