Question New guy here. Need help with my 95 Razz starting

Hello all, New member here. I have a '95 Razz I use as a pit bike at drag race events. It had been running well but lately
refuses to start when cold. I replaced the spark plug and the vacuum operated fuel shut off valve. It still will only start with a shot of starting fluid. Once you get it running its fine, but setting over night it wont start the next day.
Are they any common symptoms known like this? Or any one want to theow out an idea or two? I would sure appreciate it! Steve Greer(yamadavidson)

Welcome, Yamadavidson:

I hope I'm about to change your life for the better. Try these:
1/ For COLD starts, twist Throttle 3-times. Specifically: Twist fully open, release. Repeat twice. Then attempt your start. This was a trick I read in this Forum a while back and it solved my cold-start woes.
2/ Use Pure Gas (0% Ethanol) if you can find it. Marine gas. I use Pure Gas in all our vehicles, exclusively. Don't put corn in your Yamaha's gas tank.
3/ Run B-12 ChemTool through gas tank. Helps clean out carburetor if you've been using Varnishing gas (Ethanol-based).

Cheers.

Techsus, Thank you for replying, I will try the twist the throttle X3. And yes I do use the "good stuff" 93 w/ no ethanol. I did tear down the carb and found it to be quite clean. I checked the enrichment circuit but it seemed clean. Now I'm wondering if I lost some part that belongs in there ?
I have a diagram of the carb. (google) and I'm wondering if I somehow left out the spring(#20) the fits on top of the (#21) small brass piece that I don't know what it's called. Thanks again Techsus! Yamadavidson

Can you post a link to the carb diagram?
